Terms for Calls & 1:1 Answers

How I engage with readers: 1:1 and group calls, meetings, answers by email or DM, occasionally a specific case or a strategic call. Candid, best-effort, with clear booking rules.

B1How I engage and what this page covers

In shortI don't consult in the traditional sense, but I do talk with readers. This covers all of it.

Even though Alessandro Palombo does not consult in the traditional sense, under and around his publication he engages in conversations: one-to-one calls, group calls, answers to emails or direct messages, occasionally addressing a reader's or subscriber's specific case, and from time to time joining calls on strategic matters.

This page applies to all such individualized interactions, paid or complimentary, through any channel: one-to-one calls, group calls, meetings, workshops, office hours, and individual answers provided via email, direct messages, chat, comments, subscriber Q&A, or any other messaging medium (together, the "Sessions"), whether booked through this website, a publication or subscription platform (including Substack), a scheduling link, a webinar funnel, or arranged directly.

B2Conversations, not consultations

In shortStrategic conversations, not professional consultations.

Sessions are strategic, orientational, and educational conversations. They help you understand landscapes and trade-offs, structure your questions, and identify what to explore further with licensed professionals.

Sessions are not legal, tax, immigration, financial, or investment consultations, and nothing said or written in a Session constitutes professional advice or a professional opinion, regardless of the topics discussed, including where a specific case is addressed. No attorney-client or other professional-client relationship is created by booking or attending a Session or by receiving an answer. Where your situation requires professional advice, you will be pointed toward appropriately licensed professionals; any such engagement is separate from and independent of the Session.

B3Best-effort basis

In shortYou get my best thinking, based on what you tell me. Verifying it is on you.

All Sessions and answers are provided on a best-effort basis (an obligation of means, not of result). Specifically:

  • Answers are based solely on the information you provide, which is not independently verified. Incomplete or inaccurate input makes any conclusion unreliable by definition.
  • Answers reflect general knowledge and experience at the time given; they are not exhaustive research, a formal opinion, or a review of your documents unless expressly agreed in writing.
  • Responsiveness, depth, and format of 1:1 answers (especially via DMs or email) are discretionary unless a specific service level was purchased.
  • You remain solely responsible for any decision you take; verify anything material with licensed professionals in the relevant jurisdiction(s) before acting.

B4Who you contract with: entity by channel

In shortYour contract is with whoever operates the channel you booked and paid through.

Sessions are offered through different channels, and different channels are operated by different entities. Your contractual counterparty for a paid Session is the entity that operates the channel through which you booked and paid, as identified on that channel's checkout, booking page, invoice, or legal notices (for example, a channel may state that it is operated by a specific company, or by Alessandro Palombo personally).

  • These terms are to be read as undertaken by, and for the benefit of, that operating entity, mutatis mutandis.
  • Where the operating channel publishes its own terms, privacy policy, or refund policy, those channel-specific terms prevail over this page for that Session, to the extent of any conflict.
  • Payment processing, invoicing, transaction taxes, and consumer rights attach to the operating entity of the channel, not to any other entity, and not to Alessandro Palombo personally where he is not the operator of that channel.
  • Platforms used for booking, payment, or delivery (e.g. Substack, Stripe, scheduling or webinar software) act under their own terms, which also apply to your use of those platforms.

If you are unsure who operates the channel you booked through, ask at the contact address below before the Session.

B5Booking, cancellations & refunds

In shortCancel 72h ahead for a full refund; closer than that, reschedule once.

A booking is confirmed only upon receipt of payment through the indicated channel, unless otherwise agreed in writing. The applicable price, duration, and format are those displayed at the time of booking. Unless the operating channel publishes a different policy, the following applies:

  • Cancellation with 72+ hours' notice: full refund of the amount paid for that Session.
  • Cancellation with less than 72 hours' notice: no refund, but you may reschedule once, free of charge, to a mutually available time within 30 days.
  • No-show: the fee is forfeited and no reschedule is owed.
  • Lateness: Sessions end at the scheduled time regardless of your arrival; more than 15 minutes' unannounced delay may be treated as a no-show.
  • Cancellation by the host: you will be offered a new time or, at your choice, a full refund.

Refunds are processed through the original payment method and may take several business days depending on the payment provider. Any non-waivable rights you hold under mandatory consumer protection law remain unaffected.

B6Group calls

In shortGroup calls are shared spaces. Be respectful, and share carefully.
  • Group Sessions are shared spaces: do not share sensitive personal, financial, or legal details you would not want other participants to hear.
  • Respectful conduct is required. Participants who are disruptive, abusive, or who record without authorization may be removed without refund.
  • Anything shared by other participants is their own responsibility; confidentiality between participants cannot be guaranteed.
  • Group formats and schedules may change; if a session is cancelled entirely and not replaced, an equivalent session or a pro-rata remedy will be offered.

B7Recording & confidentiality

In shortNo recording without everyone's consent; what you share 1:1 stays private.

Sessions may not be recorded by any participant without the prior written consent of everyone present. Where a recording is made and shared by the host, it is for your personal use only and may not be redistributed. Information you share in a 1:1 Session is treated as confidential and will not be shared with third parties except where disclosure is required by law, as a courtesy commitment, not as privileged communication (see the Content terms).

B8No guarantee of outcomes

In shortNo promised outcomes, ever.

No guarantee, warranty, or assurance is given as to any result, outcome, decision by any authority, approval, timeline, tax treatment, or financial or personal benefit arising from a Session or from acting on anything discussed in it. Outcomes in matters of mobility, taxation, and legal status are inherently individual and never guaranteed.

B9Limitation of liability for Sessions

In shortIf something goes wrong, liability is capped at what you paid for that session.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with any Session is limited to the amount you paid for that Session (and excluded entirely for complimentary interactions). Liability is excluded for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of opportunity, tax consequences, denied applications, investment losses, or decisions you take following a Session. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
